Themed restaurants-Smith & Western
While I love good theming at theme parks, there are lots of other places where theming can really up the experience you're having. One of my personal favourites is themed restaurants.
While they're unfortunately not as popular as they used to be, there are still some around if you go looking for them. Some independent, or in today's case, a chain one that's scattered around the South of England.

My partner and I first discovered Smith & Western a few years back after looking for somewhere fun to eat. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we've been a bunch of times since, trying out different locations where we can.
So what is it about this place we love so much? Well there are a few things:
They have the high noon midweek lunch menu that doesn't break the bank, and has a good variety of food to pick from,

while their normal menu isn't the cheapest, the food has been great every time with decent portions,

| They also have hot sauces on the table, which is always a bonus for me |
they have a good range of drinks, including their own lager and plenty of mocktails,

| The virgin colada was soo good! |
and they also do margarita Mondays where you get a free margarita, (includes alcohol free too)
they also have an app where you get deals, plus you get points when you go so you can get money off your bill, and last but not least...the theming is a lot of fun!

We've managed to eat at four of the seven at the time of this post, and so far we've never had a negative experience. Yes it's a tad pricey, and yes while the food is great it's nothing you can't get at another decent American style restaurant, but eating somewhere with good theming just makes the experience that much better.
This year we're hoping to be able to finish visiting the last of the Smith & Western restaurants, and maybe even stay at their hotel in Tunbridge Wells and try their breakfast, as it's the only one that does them!
If you have a themed restaurant you love, or any you used to enjoy going to but no longer exists, let me know (and if you have any recommendations of ones in the UK that I should visit too!)
